von Kármán Lecture Series
The von Kármán Lecture Series, presented by JPL's Office of Communications and Education, brings the excitement of the space program's missions, instruments, and technologies to both JPL employees and the local community. A different lecture is held each month in two locations: JPL and Pasadena City College. Lectures begin at 7 p.m.
The Theodore von Kármán Lecture Series is named in honor of JPL's founder. Von Kármán's pioneering efforts in rocket development and propulsion research, and the subsequent emergence of JPL, helped to pave the way for the future of aeronautics and astronautics.
JPL Open House
Every summer, JPL hosts its annual Open House and invites the public to come explore the facility. This popular, free event provides a golden opportunity to visit the Laboratory and learn all about our latest projects. The popular event will celebrate JPL's accomplishments with exhibits and demonstrations about the Laboratory's ongoing research and space exploration. Many of the Lab's scientists and engineers will be on hand to answer questions about how spacecraft are sent to other planets, how scientists utilize space technologies to explore Earth and how researchers are now searching for planets beyond the solar system.
